A lot of food preservatives and additives may cause dryness of the hair, scalp, and skin. There are also medicines which have similar effects. Exposure to heat, sunlight, and environmental waste is going to take a toll on your hair. Occasionally, these factors are inescapable, but you can reduce damage by wearing sunhats and being inside during unfavorable weather conditions. Heat damage is primarily avoidable as it’s rarely brought on by environmental conditions. It may seem that your hair dryer or hair curler/straightener is the best thing since sliced bread. Consider the health of your hair, though. They are not going to continue being healthy any longer if you keep subjecting it to extreme heat.
You may also want to think about the hair stylizing products you’re using. It’s usually a given that hair dyes can cause damage to hair. But if you simply have to color your hair, try to use a gentle hair coloring product. Many aerosols, spritzes, gels, and mousses have harsh chemicals that can dry your hair. Try to look for products labeled 100 % natural, gentle, or moisturizing.
